European Premiere at Hyper Japan!
Yesterday at London’s Hyper Japan festival, the European Premiere of the opening for Tantei Opera Milky Holmes.
The voice actors for the four main characters gave an exclusive interview at the convention, and performed some songs live, before moving on to sign autographs for the congoers.
The show is an homage to the detective genre, the with four young girls who work for the Milky Holmes detective agency. The girls, named after famous literary detectives, are Nero Yuzurizaki, Hercule Barton, Cordelia Glauca and Sherlock Shellingford, with uniforms based loosely around Sherlock Holmes’ traditional costume.
The series is set in a futuristic world, where there are ‘Toys’ which grant people superhuman abilities. Each girl has her own unique ‘toy’ which they use in their encounters with villains throughout the series.
The show is set to premiere around the world at the beginning of October. Anime News Network lists that 12 episodes have been confirmed, and owners Bushiroad have a PSP game tie-in released in Japan at the end of the year. There is also a manga currently being serialised in Comp Ace in Japan, and an internet radio drama that was released at the end of last year.
There is no word yet on when the series will be licensed for DVD release over here, but keep checking for more news!
